Portsmouth City Sports Basketball

The Portsmouth City Sports Club, Inc. is a nonprofit sports club that provides football, basketball, t-ball, track and field, cheerleading, mentoring, tutoring, and more for the youth of Portsmouth, Virginia.  The club has been running for eight years now and in that time we have had thousands of children participate in our programs.  Last year alone, we had over 350 children participate in our basketball program alone before the pandemic hit.  These programs are funded through registration, fundraising activities, donations, and sponsorships. Our mission is to help young athletes achieve great things as individuals and as competitors. We are a training tool for tomorrow: teaching kids discipline and values that will last a lifetime.

The club also has very strong links to its local community.  We have participated in local Health Fairs to help bring health awareness to the citizens of Portsmouth and surrounding areas.  We have participated in local walks to help support Lupus and Cancer survivors. We sponsor college applications for graduating high school seniors who unfortunately are unable to afford their application fees. We have partnered with local churches and also our city’s government. And last year our Cheer program supported a community wide “Back to School Rally” that provided school supplies to over 7000 people.

Our motto is, “One Team, One Dream”. Our team is dedicated to the children of Portsmouth, Virginia. Our dream is to positively influence each and every one of their lives.
